Career Coaches


Career Coaches are here to help you! These coaches, who work through the Community College System, spend at least one a day a week at each public school in the area. They work with students one-on-one to provide Career Assessments and Career Counseling. They also work through classrooms to speak to groups of students about issues related to career coaching.

Here is what one area high school teacher had to say about the impact a Career Coach has had on her class:

  • “Over the past several weeks a Career Coach has shared information that enlightened, empowered, and educated my Junior and Senior English classes, as well as me. Some of the information that has been presented includes information on selecting a career, creating a resume, financial planning, interviewing for a job, applying for college, and "digital dirt". Each of these sessions has armed my students with information that will help them in planning their future successfully.
  • The coach shares real-life application and details that students can relate to. She shares helpful web sites and contacts that students can make beyond the school day. She talked to students who were interested in nursing about degrees, certifications, and careers in the nursing profession. She makes certain that students understand the reality of the career choices, as well as their post-high school plans. Overall, Ms. Warner has been a positive influence on my students and now, students look forward to hearing what insightful thoughts she will share during her visits.
