Updated: May 8

Relocating for work to the U.S. with family can be a rewarding experience, offering excellent career prospects for both partners. However, spouses on dependent visas often face the most significant challenges, navigating the complexities of the U.S. job market and visa restrictions.

At Career Pathway Institute, we believe everyone deserves a smooth relocation experience.  Everyone should have the opportunity to utilize their skills and advance their careers in the U.S.

Moving to the U.S. is a significant social and emotional life event, resulting in a mix of feelings, similar to a child in a new environment – excitement, curiosity, anxiety, and frustration.

Adjusting to life in the U.S. presents numerous challenges associated with cultural shock. From navigating public transportation to understanding new rules and rebuilding lives, it can take 1 to 2 years. During this transition, immigrant professionals may feel lonely and uncertain about their careers, facing the fear of missed opportunities and the strain of a single-income household.

At Career Pathway Institute, we recognize these challenges and strive to provide support, especially to immigrant professionals on career breaks.
