Review: Scrappy Design Thinking for Leaders: The 5W Approach

Svetlana Tikhonova,

Facilitator of personal growth groups

Photos don’t lie – I spent the entire workshop with my mouth open, listening, watching, and laughing.

Kimberly turned what seemed like a simple and dry topic into a stream of paradoxical and hilarious practical metaphors, making sure the most essential insights stuck with us for good.

For the hands-on practice of a step-by-step technique for achieving career dreams, I came up with an absurd and completely unrealistic idea for myself – "travel to Antarctica and bring back an iceberg or even a caravan of icebergs to create a lake with a water park in California."As I worked through the steps, I no longer seemed so irrational to myself, and the idea no longer felt entirely absurd or unrealistic. Instead, it started taking on the tone of a mission to tackle important scientific and environmental challenges—plus, why not turn it into an adventure movie while we're at it?

Now the only question is whether I truly want to pursue this and get investors on board :))) Or… come up with a dream that’s a bit more aligned with my actual life.

I was also really happy to meet new people at this event—people who are interested in career development combined with personal growth and, of course, networking!
